— Is this Canada?
— No, it's Kolsai!
Kolsai lakes, located in the Almaty region, are called the "pearl of the Northern Tien Shan". The local nature really resembles Canadian or Swiss landscapes: turquoise water, mountain peaks and coniferous forests.
Walking along the lakes, you can easily work out your 10,000 steps and not even notice it, absorbed in the beauty and tranquility of these places.
The abundance of clean air is sure to whet your appetite. It can be quenched with a delicious homemade dinner in the village of Saty, where you will stay in a guest house and enjoy a leisurely rural holiday.
Waking up with an alarm clock (or roosters), we go for breakfast and go to see another attraction - the Black Canyon. It is part of the Charyn Canyon, but has a separate significance due to the unusual dark color of the rocks. We will visit the observation deck, which offers a breathtaking view. For a second, you can imagine that you are watching a movie about prehistoric times.
Prepare cameras - they will definitely come in handy!
